Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer with 5-8 years of proven experience in Water & Wastewater Treatment and Infrastructure Projects, preferably within EPC, Design & Build, or Turnkey environments.
The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for the technical and operational coordination of project execution, ensuring that engineering, procurement, construction, testing & commissioning, and handover activities are properly integrated and delivered in accordance with approved designs, project specifications, quality standards, contractual requirements, approved schedule, and budget.
The position requires strong hands-on experience in electromechanical systems, site execution, testing & commissioning, technical coordination, and project handover, with the ability to coordinate effectively between Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, HSE, Planning, Commercial teams, suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong ownership of project deliverables, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to support the Project Manager in achieving project objectives and resolving execution challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate project execution activities from detailed engineering through procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
- Coordinate effectively between Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, HSE, Planning, Commercial, Operations, and Maintenance teams.
- Review and coordinate mechanical and electrical designs, shop drawings, technical submittals, method statements, ITPs, and material approvals.
- Review project requirements, drawings, specifications, BOQ, scope of work, and contractual requirements to ensure proper execution.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments to resolve technical and execution issues.
- Follow up on material submittals, procurement, manufacturing, inspection, delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Monitor project progress and identify technical constraints, interface issues, risks, delays, and required corrective actions.
- Support the Project Manager in developing and implementing Project Execution Plans, recovery plans, mitigation actions, and execution strategies.
- Ensure site activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, applicable standards, and HSE requirements.
- Coordinate and lead pre-commissioning, testing, commissioning, performance testing, reliability testing, and operational readiness activities.
- Coordinate the preparation and closure of commissioning procedures, test packs, punch lists, snag lists, and outstanding technical works.
- Ensure proper coordination between construction and operation teams to achieve smooth transition from construction to operation.
- Prepare and review technical reports, progress reports, RFIs, MIRs, inspection requests, technical queries, and project correspondence.
- Participate in technical and progress meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal management.
- Ensure timely closure of technical comments, NCRs, punch points, inspection observations, and outstanding works.
- Support preparation and review of O&M manuals, as-built drawings, commissioning records, training records, spare parts lists, and handover dossiers.
- Support final project handover, completion, and close-out activities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Project Engineers, Site Engineers, and technical/site teams.
- Ensure compliance with project quality, HSE, schedule, cost, and contractual requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve project execution efficiency, constructability, commissioning readiness, and operational performance

Technical Skills
- 5–8years of relevant professional experience, preferably in Water & Wastewater Treatment projects.
Strong experience in EPC, Design & Build, or Turnkey projects.
Proven experience in project execution, site coordination, testing & commissioning, and handover.
Experience in managing interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction, suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
PMP certification is preferred and highly advantageous.
Strong understanding of project engineering, construction, commissioning, and handover processes.
Good knowledge of project planning, progress monitoring, risk management, and execution coordination.S
Strong technical documentation and reporting skills.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
